FSTEP Interview

FSTEP ialah satu program management training buat perintis dalam industri perbankan.
I managed to finished my study in Bachelor Business Admin (Hons) Majoring Islamic Banking, well kalo korang google FSTEP interview dalam blog lain mesti die orang semua akan taip pasal kejayaan die orang menempatkan diri dalam FSTEP ni.

Tapi kali ini aku berbeza la sikit, aku nak cerita pasal pengalaman aku interview dalam FSTEP.
Kalau nak dikirakan aku dah datang untuk 3 kali FSTEP interview.


Interview 1

Kali pertama aku pergi interview ni, memang short notice gile, bayangkan lah aku apply hari selasa petang, hari rabu aku dapat emel datang interview hari khamis. Nervous tahap cipan la time tu. Aku dapat interview dengan RHB Bank. Harapan aku memanglah tinggi, ak siap google lagi soalan interview dan bace semua blog yang menceritakan pasal FSTEP interview ni.

Tibalah hari aku pergi interview tu, aku tak tahu jalan sebenarnya, jadi aku pun hentam je la, tengok google map, turun kat LRT pasar seni,aku pun turun kat situ Nampak je bangunan takaful, aku men agak2 je jalan janji sampai kat situ.

Ok aku proceed je dengan step aku interview, step 1, aku masuk untuk English test. soalan die aku dapati memang la tak berape susah, tapi aku xjugak dapat full mark. klo korang dapat tinggi sangat nnti korang akan proceed dengan lagi satu test tambahan, kalo korang dapat sederhana cam aku,korang akan proceed ke essay test, and kalo korang dapat rendah, korang terpaksa melangkah pulang.

so disebabkan aku ni dapat sedang-sedang je, aku proceed je ke essay test which yang aku perasaan soalan die same je macam yang tertulis dalam blog2 yang aku bace, antara tajuk yang ade lebih kurang macam ni la:

1. what do you see yourself in five years.
2. tell about the book that you read recently
3.tell about your attitude towards insurance and banking

tajuk lain aku xingat la..ehe..korang kena la buat dalam 70 patah perkataan je, jadi dalam setengah muka surat je gitu..


lepas essay, aku pun masuk la bilik interview. semua sekali ade 3 orang panel satu dari FSTEP lagi 2 orang dari RHB. mule-mule semua panel perkenal kan diri mereka. Orang dari FSTEP tu comel je, bile panel tanye soalan and aku pulak cube eye contact dengan die, die akan bagi sign untuk aku lebih memberi focus kepada 2 panel dari bank tu la.

SOALAN 1: Tell Us About Yourself?

JAWAPAN: Well, firstly I would like to thank to all the panels today for giving me such a great opportunity to join into this programmed. my name is XXX, i'm 24 years old. recently I was successfully graduated in bachelor business admin (HONS) majoring Islamic banking. for my final semester I managed to going through an internship programmed at company XXX under department XXX. during the internship programed I learned some skill relating payroll system, taxation and the allowance system. Currently, I am working at XXX company as a contract staff which it will be ended of this month and which in know that will be no problem if I may join into the FSTEP program since it will be started on the 30th may.

SOALAN2: Since you been studied in Islamic banking, do you have any problem if you join into th conventional banking.

JAWAPAN: (serius aku tak prepared untuk soalan ni, sebab dalam blog lain kebanyakkan tanye pasal bank, tapi bile part aku ni lain pulak soalannye, so aku jawab je) well, for me personally, I had no problem at all. (ak stop jawab sampai sini je, tp panel tu cam nak tunggu lagi jawapan aku, aku pun mule la merepek..) For me, since the Islamic banking system was still green in Malaysia and if I may to quote on of the hadith form the prophet Muhammad  which explained that 'akan tiba satu waktu apabila sejauh mane kita hendak lari dari riba, debu-debu riba tu tetap kita akan rasai' that is all and thank you. (aku rase sebab jawapan aku ni la aku xdapat,cakap melayu lak tu, sebab aku macam nak cakap conventional system ni penuh dengan riba and orang interview aku ni mesti la terase kan??)


SOALAN: why you choose FSTEP?

JAWAPAN: I fall in love with the banking since in decided to give up with my accountancy, and it was my dream to join into the banking industry. But I found out there will be three way to join into this industry today. Firstly, if I managed to join the bank as the sales person, where I will find as much customer as I can and achieved the sales target towards the end the things I know about banking is only to achieve the sales target but banking was supposedly more than doing the sales. secondly, I can join the bank through the customer services, get to know about the product and find out the solution for the bank client and as the customer services it was a very tough job because they will be a front line of the bank, all the action taken, all the words came out will be reflected the entire system of the bank itself and I was not so prepared for that. And lastly, I may join to the banking industry through the management training like FSTEP, MAP and IGA that will provides the training and get me prepared to join into the real world of the banking industry, that is how I choose FSTEP.


FINAL RESULT : AKU GAGAL MASUK FTEP UNDER RHB BANK. (sedey je kan)


INTERVIEW 2

Diatas kegagalan aku didalam interview pertama, aku di panggil untuk interview ke dua untuk BANK ISLAM, tapi agak mengecewakan, sehari sebelum interview baru aku dapat call cakap BANK ISLAM tak nak candidate perempuan, die orang nak candidate lelaki je, sedih kan?? diskriminasi gender le teww...hahaha...tapi aku tak patah semangat, aku dipanggil balik untuk interview under MAYBANK. Kali ni aku skip tak payah amik English test and essay test sebab pernah amik dah. Aku pun masuk la interview tu kali ni ade dua orang je panel, satu dari FSTEP and satu lagi dari MAYBANK.

soalan die lebih kurang sama, tell me about yourself, tapi satu yang aku agak kurang senang panel ni cam suke tanye pasal family, so aku agak kurang selese la, sebab bukan ade rahsia pun, cume entahla, pada aku nak nilai aku cukup la sekadar penampilan aku dan study background aku, parent aku keje ape,pangkat ape...sume tu aku rase xperlu kot, tapi die panel bukan aku panel ye tak, suke ati die la nak tanye ape pun.


FINAL RESULT : AKU GAGAL LAGI NAK MASUK FSTEP


INTERVIEW 3

Kali ini interview aku gak berbeza, sebab biasanye yang call untuk interview FSTEP ialah orang FSTEP, tapi kali ni bank tu sendiri yang call aku, so aku agak excited la. sebabkan interview tu petang, so pagi tu aku datang keje cam biase (kerja contract as data entry). petang tu aku jalan kaki je ke tempat interview tu sebab dekat je yang opis aku. ouh lupe lak kali ni aku kena panggil dengan AFFIN BANK.

Aku sampai je kat menara AFFIN BANK tu, aku masuk dah ade 2 orang yang dah sampai, dierang bagi cubic test/IQ test, (bile korang dah nak cari keje nanti korang kan get use la dengan test2 pelik ni). Aku frust sebab ade banyak soalan math, and depa tak pesan lak bawak kalkulator dah tak pasal aku pakai kalkulator hp je, frust tol, tapi sebab macam xde time limit aku pun buat je la.

Lepas test tu, aku kena buat essay test lak (terus terang aku cakap, aku just nak datang interview je, ak xsangke lak kena buat test ni bagai) lepas aku buat essay, dierg panggil untuk sit down prepared untuk public speaking (amik ko..before interview kena buat public speaking??? ni la kali pertama aku kena buat public speaking untuk interview) die orang bagi few tajuk, tapi sebabkan aku ni tak berape pakar dalam nak cakap fakta, jadi aku prefer untuk cakap pasal the character of my dream employer (lebih kurang camtu la tajuk Nye).

Mase duduk dengan candidate lain, aku rase cam segan sangat and FYI ni la kali pertama aku pergi interview pakai kemeja (before this aku pakai baju kurung je), so aku cam tak selese sangat dan tak berape konfiden. bile aku masuk bilik interview, aku lagi tambah nervous sebab ni la kali pertama aku di interview dengan 4 orang panel, ramai tu...sumenye staff AFFIN BANK tu and nampak gaye bukang calang-calang orangye cam boss-boss gitu. aku cube cool lagi, lepas tu die orang mintak aku sampai kan public speaking aku. (secare berdiri ye)

secara synopsis Nye camni la :

I am just an ordinary person who had a dream. There is only three qualification of my dream employer. My employer should be the one who really understanding. The good employer should know how to fulfill the need and wants of their worker. For an example, there is a employee who will be motivated in term of money that will be paid to him, so the employer may give that kind of employee the task and promising to paid more to him, on the other hand, they is an employee who thinking that spend more time with family as the motivation to them, so the good employer may offer the extra leave day for this kind of employee. the second qualification is the employer should be religious, the good employer with a religious manner can advice their employee in a proper way. (lepas tu cakap aku mule ke laut)


SOALAN 1 : Tell us about yourself?

JAWAPAN : (jawapan aku same je macam yang sebelum ni.)


SOALAN 2: why you are saying just now during public speaking that you are just an ordinary person when you start your public speaking? because we are here to find an extra-ordinary person...

JAWAPAN : (aku terkedu, then baru jawab)well, for me that thing was just as my quote for grab some attention.

SOALAN 3: Just now you are telling us that you wanted the employer to be a religious? do you really understand the tittle of public speaking given, the employer is the company not your boss, what are you thinking while you draft your idea just now?

JAWAPAN: (time ni aku rase cm kena timpa menara twin tower) well, I imagining that the employer of the company in the small company where the boss is also the employer. (fuhhh...memang macam budak-budak jawapan aku, dah la gagap)


SOALAN 4: Are you not confident with yourself? You are thinking that other candidate in that room was so much better than you? is that what you feel? (panel ni tanye dengan suare keibuan)

JAWAPAN: (aku gelak walaupun, cam nak nangis aku coverkan diri lagi) YES....that is how I feel right now (mase ni aku dah taw aku x akan dapat)


Aku pun bangun and nak keluar dari bilik interview, tapi before keluar disebabkan aku taw aku tak akan dapat aku terus je cakap

 ' Trust me, I'm trying so hard to improve my confident level, and since the Taj Mahal cannot be built in one day, same goes to my confident level'. aku belah je terus lepas tu.


Aku keluar dari bangunan tu, cuace lak hujan renyai, macam paham je perasaan aku, aku kuatkan gak kaki aku balik ke opis, and finally, ak nangis gak, sebab aku rase susah Nye nak dapat kerja and from that moment aku berhenti berharap dengan FSTEP.
